Tim Leugs

I am Mr. Leugs and I teach 6th-8th Grade Science. The best part of my work is helping students to open their eyes to the ways in which God reveals himself in all school subjects and in all of life. “[The] universe is before our eyes like a beautiful book in which all creatures, great and small, are as letters to make us ponder the invisible things of God: his eternal power and his divinity.” When a student sees God’s handiwork and then applies it to a life of service to God through others, I know I have done my job.

When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, playing guitar, hiking, backpacking, woodworking and carpentry.

If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would love to revisit Isle Royale. I love islands, specifically in the Great Lakes.

My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:4-7 – “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

My Deep Hope is that I and my students take notice of God’s fingerprints throughout Creation and actively respond to God’s call to enjoy and care for Creation.
