Legacy Christian’s 8th-grade class took the stage in a dazzling production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr., bringing the magic of Agrabah to life for our school community. From the moment the curtains opened, it was clear that months of hard work and dedication had gone into making this show a spectacular success.

Aladdin Jr. tells the classic story of a young “diamond in the rough” who discovers a magic lamp and, with the help of a larger-than-life Genie, embarks on a journey to win the heart of Princess Jasmine and embrace his true destiny. Our talented cast truly embodied their characters, with Tyler Krosschell shining as Aladdin and Jordy Helmholdt captivating audiences as Jasmine. Their performances, along with the entire ensemble, brought energy, humor, and heart to the stage.
Since November, our students have poured their efforts into every aspect of the musical—from memorizing lines, songs, and dances to assisting with set design and stage crew. Their involvement at every level made this production a true team effort and an unforgettable experience.
There were three performances: a memorable one on Friday afternoon where the entire school attended, followed by two evening performances on Friday and Saturday at South Christian High School's auditorium.
A special thank you goes to our incredible directors, Lori Bolt and Kristen Lautenbach, for their unwavering dedication and passion. They have poured their hearts into these kids, guiding them with encouragement and enthusiasm as they stepped out of their comfort zones and grew in confidence. Watching our 8th graders take the stage, push themselves to try something new, and shine in front of an audience was nothing short of inspiring.

The 8th-grade musical is a significant milestone in our students’ final year at Legacy. While participation isn’t required, nearly every student chooses to get involved in some way, making it a special bonding experience for the entire class. It’s one of the many things that set Legacy apart— and year after year, our students rise to the challenge with enthusiasm and excellence.
One of the highlights of this year’s production was when some of the cast members visited our elementary school students (K-2), giving them a sneak peek into the magic of theatre. Seeing our 8th graders engage with and inspire the younger students was an incredible reminder of how special this experience truly is.
At Legacy, we love to support our students as they use their God-given talents, knowing that God takes pleasure in us using the gifts He has given. This musical is more than just a performance—it’s a chance for students to grow in their abilities, build confidence, and glorify God through their hard work and creativity.
Legacy has a well-earned reputation for excellence in musical theatre, and this year’s production of Aladdin Jr. was no exception. We are so proud of our 8th graders for their hard work, dedication, and courage to step into the spotlight. This experience will be one they remember for years to come, and we love walking alongside them as they discover their gifts and talents. Bravo to the entire cast and crew on a fantastic performance!
