We are thrilled to announce that Maestra Vargas, our beloved 1st Grade Spanish Immersion teacher at Legacy Christian School, has been honored as WZZM's Teacher of the Week! This recognition highlights her incredible dedication to her students and her unique journey to becoming an educator.
Originally from Colombia, South America, Maestra Vargas brings a rich cultural background to her classroom. Before moving to the United States, she worked as a journalist in Colombia, a career that sharpened her communication skills and fueled her passion for storytelling. But it was becoming a mother that inspired her to change her path. Maestra Vargas decided to pursue a career in teaching, and we are so grateful she did!
Her experience as a journalist allows her to foster curiosity and creativity in her students. Every day, she teaches with enthusiasm, making sure her 1st graders are not only learning a new language but also gaining a deeper understanding of the world around them. The Spanish Immersion program can be challenging for young learners, but Maestra Vargas has a remarkable way of making the process fun, engaging, and meaningful.
We are so proud of Maestra Vargas and the lasting impact she’s making in our community. Her passion for teaching, combined with her caring heart and strong work ethic, make her a perfect recipient of WZZM’s Teacher of the Week award.
Congratulations, Maestra Vargas! You inspire us all with your dedication, and we’re blessed to have you as part of the Legacy Christian family.
¡Felicitaciones, Maestra Vargas!
